Trickett Gate Barn is perfectly situated on a quiet lane just off the centre of the village of castleton in the beautiful Hope Valley. It is surrounded by the stunning landscape of the Derbyshire Peak District National Park, with many and varied walks right from the door, and close to the stately homes of Chatsworth, Haddon and Lyme Park.
The cottage has all modern facilities, central heating, dishwasher, microwave etc but retains its charm and character with orginal oak beams, Derbyshire gritstone fireplace with multifuel stove in the large living/dining room, modern kitchen and bathroom. French doors lead to a small enclosed cottage garden with furniture and BBQ which faces south. There is off-street parking for one car, another car can be parked behind this one if necessary.
Castleton has many amenities including six pubs, a restaurant, three tea rooms, an excellent visitors centre, four caverns including the famous 'Blue John' a very ancient church and the remains of the 10th century Peveril Castle.
The village is served by a small general store and post office for basic essentials and newspapers. The next village of Hope has a large Spar shop, a butchers, greengrocers, Chinese and Indian takeaways.
Off road parking, Open all year, short breaks available. Children welcome from any age.

On entering Castleton on the A625 from the direction of the M1, at the first sharp left hand bend, turn right down Millbridge. Trickett Gate House is on the right in about 200yds at the start of Trickett Close (the sign for this is actually on our front boundary wall). Parking is just beyone the cottage, at the back.
The nearest railway station is Hope Station.
Bus No. 272 from Sheffield stops just around the corner from Trickett Gate Barn.
